Mural by Shepard Fairey

Visible from the 55 freeway, Shepard Fairey’s “Welcome Home” mural is an amalgamation of several different visual motifs and themes showing both the symbiosis between humans and nature and the independence of surf culture. The work is a message of peace, independence, and the beauty and openness of humanity and nature.

Spanning a creative period of more than 28 years, Shepard Fairey’s stickers, guerilla street art presence, and more than 80 public murals have become recognizable worldwide. His work has evolved into an acclaimed body of art that includes the 2008 "Hope" portrait of Barack Obama, found at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. Fairey’s clothing brand OBEY GIANT is located in Orange County. Baker Block is the location for his first O.C. mural.
