Keep it Sweet: Best Spots to Grab Desserts in Costa Mesa

December 21st, 2017

If there is one thing we can all agree on, it is that the Winter season is the one time during the year to really indulge in as many desserts as you can. There are many of us who truly love baking. However, there are others who cannot get enough of the seasonal sweets from local shops and bakeries. Whether it is a holiday party, your cheat day, or just because, here are some of Baker Blocks favorite spots in Costa Mesa to grab a sweet Winter treat.

Dessert Spot #1: Popbar

First up there is Popbar. Located at The LAB on 2930 Bristol Street, this sweet spot sells one of the tastiest frozen desserts and in the most innovative way. At Popbar, you get handcrafted gelato on a stick! Open daily from 12 PM to 9 PM, these extraordinary gelato popsicles can even be customized to your liking. However, if you are not in the mood for a Popbar, you can also get Popsorbetto, a Popwhich, or a Yogurtpop. They also have a creamy, frozen hot chocolate, shakes that blend two different Popbars together, and bite-size Popbites that come by the dozen. So, if you are in the mood for something out of the ordinary, head on over to Popbar and get yourself a gelato popsicle.

Dessert Spot #2: Confetti Italian Ice and Custard

Our second sweet spot is Confetti Italian Ice and Custard on 1175 Baker Street, Ste E22. One of the best parts of this ice cream shop is that it is extremely close to home. At Confetti Italian Ice and Custard you will find yourself some very affordable ice cream and frozen yogurt. Popular items are the Cactus Cooler, the classic Bomb Pop, and their creamy Thai Tea Custard. They also have a delicious tropical snowball that is a combination of lychee and passionfruit inside a vanilla custard. This ice cream shop is open from 1 PM to 10 PM Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and until 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. For those of you who stop by for the first time, do not forget to get yourself a stamp card. After ten stamps you will get yourself a free Italian ice parfait.

Dessert Spot #3: Dough & Arrow

Last but certainly not least is Dough & Arrow on 3033 Bristol St Ste Q, where you can enjoy the classic combo of coffee and cookies. Serving up all your favorite American desserts, Dough & Arrow provides you with dozens of different kinds of cookies baked fresh daily. Customers rave about their sea salt chocolate chip cookie and Ube croissant with a delicious creamy filling. If you are looking to try one of their beverages, definitely try out their Cookie Cream Latte.

Whether you want an incredible coffee and cookie experience or a unique ice cream, Costa Mesa has it all! So head on over to one of these spots during the holidays. Your sweet tooth will thank you.
