July 30th, 2018
Hello everyone! Now that we have become so familiar with the surrounding Baker Block area, it is time to discover what fun can be had outside of Costa Mesa. In particular, Long Beach.
Sights and Landmarks
Long Beach Waterfront
It is no surprise that there is a fantastic waterfront community here. While visiting, keep it mellow and head over for a nice walk with a beautiful view. With plenty of places to eat along the way, this waterfront on 54th Place and Ocean Blvd. is another great spot for a relaxing bike ride or jog. Also, be sure to take a stop at the iconic lighthouse.
Aquarium of the Pacific
Looking to learn and have fun? Then get yourself tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific. This gorgeous aquarium is a great way to learn more about California’s sea life. Highlights here include sea otters, penguins, and a touchable shark lagoon.
Local Events
The Long Beach Antique Market
Located at the Veterans Memorial Stadium, this monthly flea market offers over 800 vendors selling all sorts of antiques, collectible goods, and vintage clothing. For those of you with an affinity for antique decor and still need to furnish your new Baker Block apartment, the Long Beach Antique Market is the place for you. It happens on the 3rd Sunday of every month and goes from 5:30 AM to 3 PM.
