Today in particular we will be discussing one of the most popular cuisines in all of California, SUSHI! So whip out your phones, prepare to make some reservations, and get ready to discover the best sushi spots to enjoy near Baker Block.

Sushi Spot #1: Calipoke

Calipoke is located around the corner at The LAB and serving up some delicious poke bowls. Unlike most, you have the option of creating your own, customized poke bowl. From the base to the type of fish, it is all up to you. They also include side orders and you can never go wrong with their Crunchy Roll. Open every day from 11:30 AM to 9 PM, Calipoke delivers high end, authentic Japanese cuisine in a casual style. Healthy and delicious, this new style of poke is definitely for everyone.

Sushi Spot #2: Anjin

Located at 3033 Bristol Street is our favorite Korean BBQ spot, Anjin. Open every day from 5 PM to 1 PM, Anjin is serving up the best beef in town. Some of the must-try items are the beef plate with chopped negi, the Otokoyoma cold sake, and the bacon-wrapped asparagus. It is worth mentioning that the wait here can be a little long. However, once you step inside and get a smell of what they are cooking up, it will all be worth it.

Sushi Spot #3: HanaRe

Hidden away in a corner at The LAB is an incredible Japanese cuisine experience. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30 PM to 10 PM Hanare is a wonderful spot to visit on an anniversary or birthday.  Served omakase style, each dish that the chef chooses for you will shock your taste buds like never before. Do know that this restaurant is quite pricey but nonetheless worth it. For those of you who prefer to choose for yourself, this may not be the place for you. However, with a magnificent display for each dish, all the food served at Hanare will be a memorable feast for both your eyes and your stomach.
