Walking it Out in Costa Mesa: The Best Parks Near Baker Block

There are definitely those days when we are tired of being indoors either at home, at work or the gym. One of the best ways to find some fresh air and get a workout is to head over to one of your local parks. From short outings with the dog, lush, green trails, to long walks along the beach, here are the best parks to enjoy near Baker Block.

Park #1: Fairview Park

Ten minutes away from Baker Block on 2501 Placentia Ave. is the beautiful park Fairview. Lush and green, Fairview is great for both walking and running. One thing that we love about Fairview park is that the trails are perfectly paved, making it easy to maneuver. In regards to the difficulty level, there is a steady incline, which makes for a great workout. In addition to the lush green surroundings, you will come across a beautiful portion of the park filled with tiny, vibrant yellow flowers. Best of all, it is dog-friendly and has free parking. So, anyone who enjoys a green floral view on their walks head on over to Fairview. It is truly a wonderful sight.

Park #2: Crystal Cove State Park

For those of who you are looking for an epic beach view along your walk, head on over to Crystal Cove State Park. Located in Laguna Beach on 8471 N. Coast Highway, the drive to this special spot is about 18 minutes away from Baker Block. Along with natural seashores encompassing 3.2 miles of the Pacific coastline, you also get 2,400 acres of backcountry wilderness. This magnificent space also includes 46 vintage rustic coastal cottages. Originally built as a seaside colony in the 1930’s, Crystal Cove is a historic park near Baker Block. It is open from 6 AM to sunset and the historic district is open until 10 PM. Like Fairview, parking is free and they have yearly events including guided hikes and tidepool walks. From a workout day to an adventure with the family, Crystal Cove has it all.

Park #3: Del Mesa Park

Last but not least is Del Mesa Park. Only three minutes away from home on 2080 Manistee Drive, this quaint park is the perfect spot to get away for a bit of fresh air. Sweet and intimate, you can easily enjoy a meal at the picnic tables that they provide. This park is perfect for those of you looking to get in a few more Fitbit steps. Aside from the Baker Block outdoor dog park, Del Mesa is also a great place to take a short walk with the pup. So head on over and enjoy this little getaway spot near Baker Block.
