Keeping it Lively: Best Spots to Catch Live Music in Costa Mesa

Music. It is one of the few things in this world that brings us nothing but joy. Here at Baker Block, we are all about good vibes and bringing you nothing but a good time. That especially goes for all the talented Costa Mesa musicians to support and watch. Along with restaurants and parks, in Costa Mesa, there is no shortage of places to enjoy live music.

Live Music at The ARTery at The LAB

We have already made it abundantly clear that there are loads of creative people and places to visit while at The LAB. However, we have not yet dived into The ARTery. A walkthrough community art gallery at The LAB, The ARTery offers a lot to local artists. A small and intimate space, The ARTery hosts monthly music events for so many talented people to showcase and promote their work. On the nights where it is all about music, they host what they like to call Stereobox.

Two to three musicians from 7 PM to 9:30 PM hang out and play cool tunes for the public. Admission is free and all you will be spending is a good time with new friends and live music.  Since this is a monthly event, be sure to check in on The ARTery Instagram or Facebook for details.

Live Music at Vitaly at The CAMP

Along with friends, one of the best things that goes with live music is wine. No one understands that better than Vitaly Caffe at The CAMP. Every week, they host their Wine & Music Wednesdays. Unlike The ARTery, this is a weekly event. That said if you happen to miss out one week, no worries. Also, we highly suggest that you reserve your spot for when you plan to go. So from 6 PM to 9:30 PM, head over to Vitaly on Wednesday. While there you will find yourself being wined and dined as you sit back and enjoy a lovely night of live music with a tasty drink.

Local Bars and Restaurants

It should come as no surprise that there are loads of restaurants with incredible live music to choose from. To make choosing easier for you all, we highly suggest visiting one of the two restaurants for some live music with a side of food: Boathouse Collective: A funky, industrial-chic venue, this Californian eatery is at 1640 Pomona Ave. This venue hosts live art and music show’s nightly and is open every day except Sundays and Mondays from 5 PM to 12 AM. The Wayfarer: This chic locale spot is located at 843 W. 19th Street and features live music from local bands regularly with good old fashioned comfort food with a creative twist. The Wayfarer is open Monday – Saturday from 5 PM to 2 AM and Sunday’s from 3 PM to 2 AM. You can check their website daily to see who exactly is playing each night.

 

From getting through your hump day with a glass of wine to supporting local Costa Mesa musicians, there are tons of ways to enjoy live music near Baker Block. That in mind, the next time you are about to enjoy some tunes at home, think twice. Instead, go out and liven up your night at one of these local, musical Costa Mesa spots.
