How to Celebrate Memorial Day near Baker Block

As the month of May comes to an end we get closer to one of America’s best weekends. Memorial Day Weekend! To make sure you all get the most out of this fun-filled weekend while honoring all of those who have served our country, here are some of the fun things going on during Memorial Day Weekend near Baker Block.

 

Memorial Day Weekend Family Fun

Movies on the Beach 

There are all sorts of family-friendly events going on in Orange County this Memorial Day weekend. To start off, we have Movies on the Beach. Start the weekend right on May 26th with The Secret Life of Pets. The film will be shown on the big screen at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort, 1131 Back Bay Drive. The film starts at dusk. However, feel free to arrive early and stop by Bay Cafe for some refreshments.

Knott’s Berry Farm

If you are looking to spark things up over the weekend, head on over to Knott’s Berry Farm with the family and enjoy some fireworks. The fireworks begin at 9:45 PM on Sunday, May 27th. Before the fireworks, go ahead and make a day of it and enjoy the entire park beforehand.

Memorial Day Just for Adults

Newport Beach Beerfest 

For all you beer enthusiasts, make your way over to Newport Beach on May 27th. With over 150 of the best craft beers you are bound to have a good time. Food trucks will also be there along with live music. General admission is from 7 to 10 PM for $35 and VIP tickets go for $50.

Newport Beach Wine Festival

If beer is not your thing then sip on a glass of wine or two at the 14th annual Newport Beach Wine Festival at the Balboa Bay Resort. Going from May 26th through the 28th, you can enjoy endless amounts of fine wines with a waterfront setting.

Memorial Day Events for Everyone

Garden Grove Strawberry Festival

No matter who you are, you can never go wrong with the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival. From May 26th through the 29th, drive on over to the Downtown Garden Grove for all sorts of Memorial Day activities. Features include a Strawberry Stomp 5k Run, a parade, contests, games, and more!

KSBR Birthday Bash Jazz Festival

With tickets starting at $45, City National Grove Anaheim is providing you with live contemporary jazz. Acts will include David Benoit, Tony Guerrero, and Kate Flannery. There will also be a pre-bash set by Chase Huna. So get grooving on May 28th with some good old jazz tunes.

 

No matter what you do or where you are, as long as you are having a good time and celebrating all that our veterans have done, that is all that matters. So get to it and have a fantastic Memorial Day Weekend!
